Remove complete handle bracket assembly or re-

tainer screws from front of work section.

Remove seal retainers, back-up washers and O-ring

seals.

INLET COVER

Part No. 8089

No. 8089 inlet cover is available with top and end inlet

ports. It is also available with top and end outlet ports.

a gauge port is required, a port plug drilled and tapped

for a 1/4 NPTF or SAE 4 fitting may be installed in the

unused inlet port. If the outlet port in the inlet cover is not

used, the outlet port in the right or outlet cover must be

used for a tank return line.

All Model V40 inlet covers are machined to accept

Model KC ball/spring type main relief valve or Model

RP60 pilot-operated type main relief valve. If no relief

valve is required, a no relief (NR) plug may be installed.

The inlet cover may be machined with several different

combinations of port sizes and locations. Use the follow-

ing porting chart to determine the proper machining

modification number.

*These port locations are cord and will be plugged if

not required.

**Ports with NPT pipe threads are limited to 2000 PSI

[136 bar] max.

CAUTION

Do not remove the spool as the seals can

be replaced externally. Prevent spool

from turning or moving by running a rod

through the hole in the spool end and

using as a handle. Do not hold the spool

with a wrench. This will destroy the finish

and could cause spool bind.

PARTS ORDERING INFORMATION

Thoroughly clean counterbore.

Lightly oil new seals. Slide over valve spool and insert

in seal counterbore.

Reassemble parts in reverse order of disassembly.

Torque bon net screws and handle bracket or retainer

plate screws to 54-66 in. lbs. (6,1-7,5 Nm).

MAIN RELIEF VALVES

Model KC ball/spring type main relief valves and

Model RP60 pilot-operated type main relief valves are

available in adjustable or tamperproof/non-adjustable

configurations. A no relief (NR) plug option is also

available. Standard inlet cover machining will accept

all relief options listed on this page.

*Maximum V40 inlet pressure is 3500 PSI [242 bar].
